Jars of Clay Co. began at home, through a shared curiosity between a mother and daughter who wanted simple skincare that worked with the skin, not against it. Having owned cows and knowing how beneficial tallow can be for the skin, it never felt right to treat it as something to discard. Instead, it became the starting point. What began as a practical decision rooted in knowledge and care led naturally to the creation of a skincare cream that felt nourishing, purposeful, and worth using every day. As the products became part of daily life, the results spoke for themselves, turning a personal practice into a desire to share something genuinely good with others.

Our Name

The name Jars of Clay Co. draws inspiration from 2 Corinthians 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” It reflects a belief that value is not found in excess or embellishment, but in substance- carefully formed, thoughtfully held, and purposefully shared.
